Statement of Our Beliefs

Salvation:
"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Romans 10:9-10

Prayer of Salvation :
Dear Jesus, I acknowledge that I lack your presence and fullness in my life. I've spent my time and talents seeking and serving my self. I choose this day your salvation for the provision of my sins and I turn from them to you. I ask that You forgive me and cleanse me of all my sins. From this day forward I give the controls of my life to You as I commit myself to following You all the days of my life. Amen

Who is the Holy Spirit?
First of all He is a person. He is not an it or an impersonal force. The Bible tells us that He can be grieved, He can be quenched. He can be sinned against, and that He can be rejected or He can be received. He is the third person of the Godhead: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is Holy. His character and nature are revealed through what He does much like the wind is seen through what effects it has on the surrounding environment. We can't see the wind, but we see what the wind does. We can't see the Holy Spirit directly, but we can see what He does. God's word tells us that the Holy Spirit is seen as: A Helper - John 14:16, A Comforter - John 14:16, A Teacher - John 14:26, A Revealer - John 15:26, A Convicter - John 16:8, A Glorifier - John 16:14, An Empowerer- Acts 1:8 .......and described as: A dove - John 1:32, Living Water - John 7:37-39, A Rushing Wind - Acts 2:2, A Fire - Acts 2:2, and producing in the believer: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23 and who gives gifts that: • Speak to His Church: Prophesy, Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues • Touch His Church: Faith, Healings, Miracles • Reveal Knowledge to His Church: Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Discernment of Spirits (1 Corinthians 12:7-11) If you study the life of Jesus you will see the Holy Spirit's character revealed through who Jesus was, and through what Jesus did, for He was filled with the Holy Spirit without measure. Knowing the Holy Spirit as revealed in the written and Living Word of God should cause us to want to have more of Him in our lives. The fullness and faithfulness of the Holy Spirit

God's Word:
Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33; Acts 1:5; Acts 11:16-All state.. "He who is mightier than I is coming. He Himself will baptize you in/with the Holy Spirit." Jesus himself spoke of the Holy Spirit flowing out of our bellies as rivers of living waters that they who believe were to/should receive. (John 7:37-39) Jesus again speaks of this promise. He then explains the promise of The Holy Spirit for Power. (Acts 2) The Early Church received the promise. (Acts 2) Jesus having received the promised Holy Spirit from the Father sent him into the world on the day of Pentecost.
As a result:
The disciples were indued with power; They spoke in different tongues; They became as drunk men; They spoke of the mighty deeds of God. (Acts 2:1-40)
It is clear from this passage that Jesus received the promise from the Father and poured Him forth upon the early disciples. (Acts 2:33)
It is also clear that the people of the city saw and heard something that made them pause, think and ask questions.
Note there were three responses from the crowd.
• People were Bewildered.
• People were Amazed and Marveled.
• Some people even Mocked.

It is certain that they were drawn by the experienced outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Then, Peter brought clarity to their experience through the preaching of the word of God. He explained THIS is THAT and told them how they could receive the promised gift. "Repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38)
